Actually I'm studying JavaFX now and it's potential usage in my Mini Game developments.Basically JavaFX ,from my point of view is divided to to part the part i'm interested in is the Scripting part as that will have the effect of creating stuff like animation that are script based(like flash) and still be platform independent. With the development Flashlite by Adobe the demands for handphone device RIA is quite obvious to see.
